Xclose™ Plus Tissue Repair System for Efficient Soft Tissue Re-Approximation
The Xclose™ Plus Tissue Repair System provides a uniquely simple method for treating the compromised soft tissue of the anulus fibrosus:
• During a lumbar discectomy procedure, the standard of care is to remove the portion of the disc that is applying pressure to the nerves.
• This procedure typically requires the surgeon to make an incision in the outer layer of the disc which is called the anulus fibrosus.
• Many patients find relief with this procedure, but for many others, the disc could re-herniate through this opening in the anulus resulting in continuing pain and potentially requiring additional surgery.
• One approach, utilizing tissue-sparing techniques, enables the surgeon to re-approximate the opening in the anulus fibrosus to facilitate the healing process.
